   Our tale begins in the 18th century when French settlers, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start, ventured into the untamed and freezing cold wilderness of North America. These pioneers faced incredible challenges, yet they persevered, building communities that would later become the foundation of Quebec's cultural identity.
   St. Eustache, originally named after Saint Eustace, the Christian martyr, was officially founded in 1770. The town grew slowly, surrounded by fertile farmland and forests. The settlers worked hard to cultivate the land, and over the years, St. Eustache became a thriving agricultural community.
   In the 19th century, St. Eustache witnessed a period of economic growth as trade and commerce flourished along the nearby Rivière des Mille Îles. The town's strategic location made it a hub for transportation and commerce, attracting merchants and entrepreneurs.
   However, the pages of history also bear witness to a darker episode in St. Eustache's past. The town played a significant role in the Rebellions of 1837-1838, which sought political reform and an end to the perceived injustices of British rule. St. Eustache became a focal point of rebellion, with residents standing up against the British authorities.
   In December 1837, the Battle of St. Eustache unfolded as armed rebels clashed with British forces. The town became a battleground, and the historic church of Saint-Eustache, a symbol of the community's resilience, witnessed intense fighting. The rebels eventually succumbed to the superior British forces, leading to the burning of the church and significant loss of life.
   Despite this turbulent chapter, St. Eustache persevered, and the town gradually rebuilt itself. The church, now a monument to the resilience of the community, was reconstructed and stands proudly as a reminder of the town's history.As the years passed, St. Eustache continued to evolve, blending its historical roots with modernity.
   Today, the town is known for its charming streets, historical landmarks, and a vibrant community that celebrates its past while embracing the future. Visitors to St. Eustache can explore its rich heritage, stroll through its historic streets, and marvel at the reconstructed church that stands as a testament to the town's enduring spirit.
   The story of St. Eustache is one of resilience, renewal, and the enduring strength of a community that has weathered the storms of history.
 
 
 We the authors know that all ages will want to participate in recreating the sceneries of history, so we made an easy version and a more advanced paper model version.
   On top of that, we made a coloring page version so that you can enjoy putting on the colors yourself. It is a lot of fun, and is easy because we made the pictures in gray scale which guides you with shadows and volumes. You also have the colored version to guide you as you color: it shows you the original colors and textures that are there.

   Tip: It really speeds up the process if you use dry pastel along with the gray scale because you have a whole town to get through so the dry pastels are effective and give bright colors.
   
   The scale is 1:87 which comes out to a height of 3 to 4 inches to 6 to 8 inches for the bigger models. In cm this converts to 10 cm for the smaller houses and 20 to 25 for the taller ones. Of course you can also print them larger or smaller if you want.

   The models are as follows: There is a church, a mill that is still functioning in real life, a theatre school, a manor and a general store. Then there are 5 houses that are from the early days of this town and are the typical constructions from Québec of those days.

   This is a fantastic way to gain the experience of that part of the world and though coloring it as well as cutting and pasting it you will gain as much familiarity as if you were to stroll down the streets. The only thing missing is the local cuisine!

It's also a great souvenir if you ever were there as you will recognize the houses no fail.
